The City University of New York (CUNY) is the third largest public university in the US. CUNY currently has 23 schools with more than 450,000 students. Established in 1847, CUNY is the oldest public university in New York city and is considered the giant of knowledge with nearly 1,400 academic programs. CUNY has more than 30 libraries with more than 7.5 million book, more than 30,000 journals and thousands of DVDs, CDs, movies, slides, notes and other materials. CUNY students have access to online library system with copyrighted materials.

Since the beginning, VUS has always thrived to provide Vietnamese students with international standard and quality programs. This is what makes VUS different from other language centers. Therefore, in 1997, when the concept of joint activities remained unpopular, thanks to its prestige and training capacity, VUS succeeded in convincing CUNY to sign a cooperation agreement. With this agreement, for the last ten years, VUS graduates have receive internationally recognized certificates signed by both VUS and CUNY. Many graduates continue to study at universities all over the world or get good jobs in government, non-governmental organizations, foreign companies and multinational enterprises.

CUNY’s reputation is further confirmed by the fact that 12 Nobel prize winners, including ten scientists and two economists, did their study at CUNY. Many CUNY graduates have become well known senators, businessmen, investors, writers, composers and actors. Latest statistics show that 88% ofCUNY graduates get a job within six months of graduation, 90% of which hold good positions in New York City, the world’s financial, commercial, political, entertainment and cultural center.
