Agreement signing ceremony between the US Consulate General and VUS on English training program for underprivileged children (05-12-2009)
The US Consulate General in HCM City and VUS signed an agreement on an English training program for underprivileged children on 15 October 2009 at the Operaview Building, 161 Dong Khoi, District 1, HCMC.
Being a prestigious quality English training centre in HCM City and Vietnam, VUS has been selected by the US Consulate General in HCM City to execute this project which is funded by the US Department of States. The project aims to create opportunities for disadvantaged children to study English for two years.
Course participants will be selected by non-governmental organizations including AFESIP (a French organization which helps women in distressing situations), Saigon Children’s Charity, and the Disability Resource and Development Center.
“The English Access Microscholarship supports English training courses for disadvantaged children to open the door to their personal and professional development and success in the future,” Ms Patricia Norland, Cultural Attaché of the US Consulate General, said.
