VUS understands every student’s needs (17-05-2010)

Unlike other English training centers, VUS gives students the opportunity to choose the most appropriate English program according to their learning needs and goals. VUS programs are offered in a wide range: from English for children, to classes for teenagers, from English for International Communication to Corporate English training.

Help students achieve their goals in the shortest period of time

It is a reality that every student comes to English training centers with different needs and goals. For kindergarten children, as they don’t know how to read, it’s important that the program is taught through beautiful illustrations and interesting activities (such as singing and playing games) that help them to get used to pronunciation and vocabulary and to interacting successfully with foreign teachers. Older students usually want to gain advanced English skills in the shortest period of time in order to study abroad or to improve their language skills so they can succeed in the workplace.

Not all English training centers can satisfy those different needs and purposes. Many students find it difficult to choose the right program. It can currently be said that VUS is among the few centers in Vietnam that understand students’ needs and provide international-quality training programs to perfectly meet the needs of Vietnamese people.

VUS currently has ten key programs including Smartkids Program, Superkids Program, Young Leaders Program, Summer Program for Children, English for International Communication, Superior Program, Study Abroad Program, Test Preparation Program, Corporate Training and Integration Scholarship Program for Vietnamese students.

Each program is divided into different levels to suit the entry level of students to help them achieve the best results. It’s worth mentioning that all programs at VUS are developed based on the consultation with the City University of New York (CUNY), the third biggest public university in the US. This provides VUS students with access to the latest teaching and learning methodologies in the world.

With up-to-date textbooks, modern teaching aids, and qualified, experienced and dedicated foreign and Vietnamese teachers, VUS programs assist student of all ages to improve and develop their English skills. Moreover, VUS uniquely offers students to opportunity to develop soft skills such as giving presentations, working in groups and interacting with each other.

Many students realize that after each English course at VUS, they not only have better English skills but are also more confident and active and have the necessary soft skills to study and work in an international environment. Nguyen Hang Phuong Dung (who has been studying at VUS since she was in 2^nd grade) is the youngest Vietnamese to get 114/120 scores on the TOEFL iBT test.  She said: “English courses at VUS have helped me to achieve a high standard of English skills. The friendliness and dedication of VUS teachers helps me to improve my communication skills.”

Upon graduating from VUS, all students are awarded certificates recognized by CUNY and most other universities in the world. This is a solid foundation from which students can advance further when studying abroad or working in multinational companies and NGOs.

For many years, VUS has been the leading English training center in Vietnam and this has been acknowledged by our many awards.  Among these awards is the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister of Vietnam. It can be said that one of the reasons for this success is that VUS is always responsive to students’ needs in a timely and scientific manner. VUS also regularly upgrades its textbooks and methodologies in order to provide Vietnamese students with a perfect English learning environment.

VUS has a teaching body of more than 700 highly qualified foreign and Vietnamese teachers (among them are nearly 200 Master and Doctoral degree holders). This is an extensive English training center in Ho Chi Minh City and nationwide. Every year, VUS trains from 25-30 thousand students registered for various programs from English for children to preparation courses for TOEIC, TOEFL and TOEFL iBT tests.
