Many VUS students get almost top scores in TOEFL iBT, TOEIC and TOEIC BRIDGE exams (11-01-2011)

On 9 January 2011, at Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, VUS held Award Presentation Ceremony for 641 VUS students. Among them, 134 students received TOEFL iBT graduation certificate, 283 students received TOEIC certificate and 224 students received TOEIC Bridge certificate.

VUS students have achieved very high scores in recent TOEIC, TOEIC Bridge and TOEFL iBT exams. Many students get over 100/120 score in TOEFL iBT; especially, Nguyen Duc Man gets 104/120. In TOEIC, 15 out of 283 students get over 800 score; and Tran Dinh Phu is the top achiever with 915/990 score. In TOEIC Bridge, two VUS students, Tran Dao Huynh Anh and Duong Thien Trung, get almost top score 178/180.

There are representatives of TOEIC Vietnam and CUNY University (USA) at the ceremony. TOEIC Vietnam Senior Consultant Charles Wilson said: “We are very proud to have VUS as the first TOEIC test center in Vietnam. By providing opportunities for its students to achieve international language certificates such as TOEIC and TOEFL iBT, VUS has enabled Vietnamese young people to integrate confidently into the world education.”

Dr Michael Kress, leader of CUNY University delegation, remarked: “Thanks to VUS effort, 641 students attending this ceremony have achieved a high level of language skills that enable them to have a successful future career and to bring a better life to their own family. With what they have learned at VUS, they now have necessary skills to integrate into the global economy and contribute to Vietnam economic growth in future.”

At present, TOEFL iBT, TOEIC and TOEIC Bridge are considered a benchmark to evaluate English language level and a key to access the world knowledge. Being the first language training center to introduce TOEFL and TOEIC to Vietnamese people, VUS has offered tens of thousands of students the opportunities to get these international certificates. Many VUS students have got top or almost top scores such as: Nguyen Ha Nguyen Anh 180/180 TOEIC Bridge, Nguyen Hang Phuong Dung 114/120 TOEFL iBT, Dam Huy Phat 108/120 TOEFL, Au Duong Tri 960/990 TOEIC, Do Trong Thanh 670/677 TOEFL.

Every year, VUS has more than 150,000 students and offers tens of thousands of them opportunities to get popular international certificates such as Flyers of Cambridge University, TOEIC Bridge, TOEIC and TOEFL iBT.
