VUS awarding Movers certificate to 404 children learners (07-03-2011)

On March 5^th, 2011, VUS organized an Award Presentation Ceremony at the Opera House to grant Movers certificates to 404 young students who have finished the Movers courses withinthe school's  SuperKids program.

The program develops both students’ English skills and confidence. Students have opportunities to practice all four skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) with native English-speaking teachers. The program helps build up a solid foundation for the students from the beginning and prepares them for the international education environment.

Dao Nguyen Anh Thu, a 9-year-old student at 215 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia campus told us excitedly: “Studying English at VUS is really fun. I can remember the lessons quickly thanks to colorful pictures and animated videos. What I like most is that I study with native speakers. I have the confidence to communicate in English now.” She also said that she would continue to attend higher-level classes at VUS to realize her dream of becoming an English teacher and studying in the US.

The Movers certificate serves as recognition of students’ English proficiency which encourages them to study harder. After this level, they can continue to take classes at a higher level to get international certificates such as TOEIC Bridge, TOEIC, TOEFL iBT and IELTS. According to statistics from the Cambridge University Testing Center, VUS students’ average score on Cambridge tests are 30% higher than those of other students in the region.
