VUS presents 2011 Nguyen Thai Binh scholarships worth 1.1 billion VND (27-03-2011)

In the live broadcast of “Youth Aspiration” program from Quan Khu 7 Stadium on 26/3/2011, VUS President Mr Dinh Thai Long presented 1.1 billion VND to Thanh Nien newspaper Editor in Chief Mr Nguyen Quang Thong. It is VUS contribution to the Nguyen Thai Binh – VUS scholarship program in 2011.

VUS has awarded various scholarships worth nearly 5 billion VND in the past years including Integration Scholarships for university and college students and Scholarships for staff of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

The Nguyen Thai Binh – VUS scholarship program is part of a commitment of VUS to equip Vietnamese young generation with an efficient tool to excel in life, which is English. The program aims to provide English training to top students in university entrance exams and good students who experience difficulties in life.

The scholarship is the first step for students to explore new knowledge and improve their English skills to build up solid foundation for their career development and to contribute to the nation’s development. Since 2004, VUS has contributed more than seven billion VND through Career Consultation Campaigns, Nguyen Thai Binh scholarships and awarded nearly 500 scholarships for students which are worth more than 1 billion VND each year.

In 2011, the Nguyen Thai Binh – VUS scholarship program will continue to award 70 scholarships to eligible students of public / private universities, colleges and institutions. The total amount awarded is 1.1 billion VND. Each scholarship equals four EIC courses at VUS. Representatives of VUS and Thanh Nien newspaper will review applications and select 70 students from Ho Chi Minh City to receive the scholarships.
