6th Annual VUS TESOL Conference (13-07-2011)

Welcome to the sixth Annual VUS TESOL Conference. Once again, VUS is honored to host the TESOL conference and to offer teachers opportunities to get together, to share experiences, and to initiate new teaching ideas.   With the theme “New Perspectives for the New Decade and Beyond”, the conference attempts to address new perspectives on teaching approaches to meet the demands of the classroom and the workplace,  and to make the classroom friendly and fun for adult learners and young learners.

What are the principles for teaching young learners?  How to motivate today’s  students and make the classroom lively?  What are EFL students’ perceptions about native and non-native speaker English teachers in the classroom?  How to accurately and practically assess your students’ abilities and progress?  What’s humanism in language teaching?  These and other interesting topics will be examined and discussed in today’s conference.

We would like to thank the publishers who have helped sponsor this conference, all the presenters from Vietnam and abroad, and all the participants in today’s conference.  We hope that this conference will allow us to pause and reflect on our teaching, and that it will bring changes and improvement to the English language classrooms in Vietnam.
