VUS holds a storytelling program for children (17-10-2011)

Early on October 8th, 2011, the Vietnam-USA Society English Centers held a storytelling program in English at Xuan Thu bookstore (391-391A Tran Hung Dao, District 1, HCMC). The program was one of the prominent activities of the Pearson’s Book Exhibition Month held by Fahasa in collaboration with Pearson, the world’s leading education company.

Many children were excited to join the program emceed by native English speakers from VUS. Their excitement came from the opportunity to interact with and talk to foreign teachers. 8-year-old Ngoc Anh said: "The teacher is a very good storyteller with a very good sense of humor." The funny stories brought a happy atmosphere to the bookstore.

The children also participated in many entertaining games. Through these fun games with the guidance of the teachers from VUS, the children demonstrated great confidence in front of crowds of exhibition-goers, as well as the ability to speak English fluently with native teachers. After each of the storyteller’s questions, so many children volunteered to answer and were delighted with the gifts from the organizers at VUS.

At this event, Xuan Thu bookstore exhibited and introduced to readers more than 1,000 book titles with nearly 20,000 books published by Pearson sold at prices 10% lower than usual. The exhibition offered lots of promotions, gifts and lucky draw prizes worth nearly 40 million.
