386 VUS students awarded TOEIC and TOEIC Bridge certificates (19-10-2011)

On October 16th, 2011, at the Opera House, the Vietnam-USA Society English Centers (VUS) formally organized a ceremony to award the International English certificates of TOEIC and TOEIC Bridge to 386 of their students.  The awards given were comprised of 94 TOEIC certificates and 292 TOEIC Bridge certificates.

Lam Gia Vu, a 12-year-old, learning at 189 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, District 1, received the best TOEIC Bridge score. Reportedly, after achieving this certificate, Vu made his way to China to fulfill his dream of overseas studies. 32 other students (from 11 to 16 years old) received TOEIC Bridge scores of 170 points and above. This result demonstrates the outstanding ability of English language learners at VUS. For TOEIC, the top score went to Diep Tran Vinh Huy, a second-year student at the University of Technology, National University in Ho Chi Minh City. Huy shared his happiness: "The exciting hours of English at VUS consolidate my passion for English. The knowledge i gain at VUS helped me feel very confident on the official TOEIC exam."

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Charles Leornard Wilson, Senior Advisor of TOEIC Vietnam, said: "As the first school system to introduce international English tests of TOEFL, TOEIC and TOEIC Bridge, VUS is known to have contributed a great deal to the integration of Vietnamese youths into the world’s community. With such internationally-recognized certification, Vietnamese young students should be more confident with favorable opportunities to participate in the world of knowledge. VUS has made substantial efforts to implement the Government's policy of integration into the educational system of the world. "

Currently, the TOEIC and TOEIC Bridge certificates have become an international standard to measure English ability and are the key to greater access to advanced knowledge of the world. Since 2003, in the trend of integration, the Vietnam-USA Society English Centers, through TOEIC Vietnam, have been designated by the American English Testing System (ETS) as the first TOEIC Testing Center in Vietnam. Vietnam-USA Society English Centers are also the first school system to introduce TOEIC Bridge, one of the prestigous ETS exams, to the  training curriculum and certification for teenagers in Vietnam. In 2006, VUS continued to launch the TOEFL iBT only six months after the program was first introduced in the United States. To date, VUS has awarded this international certificate to tens of thousands of students, with many high scores.

Every year, VUS trains nearly 200,000 students and helps thousands of students get such popular international certificates as Flyers from the University of Cambridge, TOEIC Bridge, TOEIC, TOEFL iBT and so on.
