VUS – OUP’s first partner in Asia (23-11-2011)

On November 22, 2011, at 189 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, District 1, Vietnam-USA Society English Centers (VUS) and Oxford University Press (OUP) held a signing ceremony for co-branding between the two companies. With this agreement, VUS becomes the first English language training program in Asia to co-brand with OUP.

OUP is a division under Oxford University, the oldest University (900 years of age) in the English-speaking world and a leading university in teaching and research. OUP was established to optimize the purposes of Oxford University through the fields of research, scholarship granting and education through the form of publications, textbooks, and teaching materials distributed widely around the world.

VUS is recognized by OUP as an English language training unit using teaching materials in accordance with the quality standards of OUP. With the advantage of being the largest English language training center in Vietnam with more than 80% textbooks being from OUP, VUS is a good example of prestige and quality for OUP books in the Vietnam market. In addition, VUS has the capacity, conditions, and the diversity of student levels to test OUP’s new curricula.

According to the agreement, OUP will support VUS in professional conferences with a diverse range of topics for VUS teachers, especially the co-organized annual TESOL English teaching conference for English teachers across the country. Oxford also offers courses to support professional training for VUS teachers. Besides, VUS is the first unit to receive updates of the latest English language curricula in line with OUP’s guide on teaching methods to achieve the best results from the materials involved.
