VUS - THE CHOICE FOR ENGLISH LEARNERS

Due to the modern trends of international integration, the need for learning and improving English skills is in high demand.  With English training programs that meet international standards, approved by most universities around the world, the Vietnam USA Society (VUS) is among the few English schools that can give students what they need when learning English; be they children, adults, university students, or businessmen.

The training program of VUS was founded based on collaboration with the City University of New York (CUNY), the third largest public university in the USA.  Because of this, students in VUS have a valuable opportunity to learn using modern international techniques, and are able to achieve the highest possible goals in their course of study.  Our foreign and Vietnamese teaching staff is professional, enthusiastic and qualified; this along with supportive teaching tools which are realistic, modern and exciting give students the confidence and support they need to achieve high marks in all skills.

Using the best programs, VUS trains students in necessary skills such as public speaking, teamwork, and practice in expressive skills and communication through oral and audio examinations.  As for our result, our students that have taken examinations for international degrees have shown good results reflecting the high quality of VUS training.

We can name many VUS students who have obtained rare high scores in international exams.  For example, Nguyen Hang Phuong Dung, who secured 114/ 120 on the TOEFL iBT, and became the youngest Vietnamese student to secure this mark. Dam Duy Phat who received 108/ 120 on the TOELF iBT, Nguyen Ha Nguyen Anh who received a score of 180/180 on the TOEIC Bridge, Au Duong Tri scored 960/ 990 on the TOEIC, and Do Trong Thanh scored 670/677 on the TOELF. According to our research, surveys have shown that the grades of teenage VUS students are often 30% higher than those in the same age group in other schools throughout Asia.

The most important thing when learning English is being able to communicate and use English at a high level.  Nguyen Hang Phuong Dung, the youngest Vietnamese student to score a 114/120 on the TOEFL iBT, started learning English at VUS from level 2.  He says: ‘Those first days at school, I was very scared.  But the more I went to school, the happier I felt.  I almost never miss class, except when I am sick.  My time studying English at VUS has helped me practice all my skills at a high level.  The hospitality and enthusiasm of my teachers has helped me a lot in English communication.’ Dang Huyen Minh Tri, the second place medalist in the English eloquence contest says ‘English is a necessary skill for young people at this time of economic integration, and it’s also an indispensable skill if you want to achieve success in the future.’

After graduation from VUS, all students are offered internationally valued certificates, approved by CUNY and many other international universities.  This is the groundwork for students to study abroad, or work for international companies, non-governmental organizations, and multinational corporations.

In dedication to fulfilling diverse demands of students, VUS has designed many training programmes to cater to all levels: English for kindergarteners, English for children, English for youth, English for summer camping children, English International Communication (EIC), instant English international communication, English for studying abroad, English for taking international degrees, English for businessmen, and scholarships for integration programmes for students.  Hence, at whatever age or career status, learners can choose a suitable course for themselves at VUS based on their levels, abilities, and aims.

In order to provide the best teaching quality for learners, VUS periodically conducts training programs, forums, and workshops to help teachers improve and develop their teaching style.  In addition, VUS organizes an annual English teaching conference (TESOL) that attracts thousands of English teachers and many international speakers.  The TESOL conference not only helps VUS teachers but also provides opportunities for teachers from all over the south of Viet Nam to widen their knowledge, improve their professional skills and develop their teaching methodology.

All the efforts that VUS has made have been acknowledged by our community for quite some time through many awards, certificates and titles.  VUS is the first English Training center to be recognized by the Prime Minister for excellence in English teaching.  Recently, VUS has had the honor to receive the title The most famous trademark for Education and Training by the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in coordination with Niesel Company. In addition, along with the recognition of our contribution to and development of education in the country, VUS also had the honor to receive the title The super strong Trademark and ever long-lasting development.

With a nation-wide system of campuses, the Vietnamese USA Society is the largest scale English training center in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as in the entire country.  We have over 150,000 students annually and over 1,000 teachers and staff members.  VUS always has between 25,000 to 30,000 learners at different levels from English for kindergarteners up to our many programs for TOEIC and TOEFL iBT.
