VUS is a major professional English Language Training Centre in both Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country. With more than ten campuses in different locations in Ho Chi Minh City, VUS always has around 25,000 to 30,000 students at a time. As a prestigious English center, VUS can attract many well-qualified foreign and Vietnamese teachers who have to pass a harsh interview in both theory and practice. Currently, VUS has more than 700 teachers.

“Professional training, quality management, international certificates” are the objectives and direction of VUS in its operations. VUS always focuses on the quality of its teaching staff to remain the leading English language training center in Vietnam.

Training workshops, short courses and seminars are organized regularly throughout the year to help teachers improve their skills and knowledge. Especially, the annual TESOL Workshop attracts thousands of English teachers nationwide and many outstanding world speakers. TESOL is the only workshop on English teaching organized by VUS. The event benefits not only VUS teachers, but also teachers from all over the country, especially in the south, to advance their knowledge and improve their methodologies.

Among 700 teachers at VUS, there are nearly 200 Masters and Doctoral holders, the rest are Bachelors. VUS also has support from an Academic Consultation Committee comprising of Vietnamese and foreign specialists who are teaching at well known international universities. During their employment at VUS, teachers are encouraged to develop professionally, including attending teachers training course by Cambridge University.

To improve teaching quality and to serve students better, since 2009, VUS started to have teaching assistants to help students in class, especially students at a very young age. Thanks to the teaching assistants, children are better taken care of hence they can get optimal results in class.
