English for International Communication – 2011 (EIC)

A breakthrough in English Language Teaching

Designed for adult learners, the EIC program aims to provide them with a solid background in English, to equip them with the skills needed communicate in an international environment, and to help them to integrate into international learning systems while receiving internationally recognized certificates .

Reasons for joining the EIC program:

1. VUS is the only institute in Vietnam to partner with CUNY, the third largest state university in the United States, the cradle of many world-renowned prize winning scholars.
2. VUS uses the latest textbook series from Oxford University Press, which has been tried successfully in many Asian countries such as Singapore, Thailand, ….
3. The highly interactive teaching tool IPack allows teachers to bring to class current social knowledge in an international context.

Placement exam

Students will take a placement exam that tests them on 4 skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing. Based on the result of the exam, learners will be placed in suitable class levels.

Certification

• Score reports showing students’ study results after each class level.
• Certificates awarded by VUS after each proficiency level.
• TOEIC certificates with scores from 400, 500, 600,…,900, issued by Educational Testing Service, USA (ETS)
• IELTS Certificates with scores 5.0, 6.0,…, 9.0, issued by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, British Council, and IDP Education.
• TOEFL IBT Certificates with scores 50, 60, …120, issued by Educational Testing Service, USA (ETS)
• The Graduation certificates, co-signed by VUS and CUNY, together with TOEFL IBT or IELTS score reports, which are internationally recognized.

English for International Communication

• Beginner: 4.100.000 VND (200USD)/class/84 hours/10 weeks
• Elementary 1,2,3: 3.690.000 VND (180USD)/class/60 hours/10 weeks
• Pre–Intermediate 1,2,3: 4.100.00 VND (200USD)/class/60 hours/10 weeks
• Intermediate 1,2,3: 4.510.000 VND (220USD)/class/60 hours/10 weeks
• TOEIC 500: 3.075.000 VND (150USD)/class/54 hours / 9 weeks

* Students can take TOEIC 400 class after completing Pre-Intermediate 3 class.

After finishing the EIC program, student can enroll in 1 of these 3 programs to achieve advanced levels of English:

• English for International Communication – Advanced
• English for Academic Purposes – TOEFL iBT
• English for Academic Purposes - IELTS

After completing the EIC program, students can choose to take 1 of these 3 programs to achieve advanced levels of English.
