The Academic English Program (AEP) equips students with English skills and knowledge to be applicable in universities, social interactions and academic situations such as listening to lectures, taking notes, gathering information accumulation and writing essays. The program focuses on key academic English skills to help students express their ideas clearly and confidently.
The AEP helps improve students’ overall skills and knowledge. Students will not only perfect their four skills but also discuss current social affairs in different countries in the world which help them prepare to adapt into the new learning and living environment in foreign countries.
Students will get used to writing essays, writing reports, taking notes, listening and giving presentation and participating in seminars throughout the program. Especially, students will learn how to take notes effectively to be able to understand the lectures.
Students will study with Northstar textbooks published by Pearson Longman and ETS. Northstar is the most advanced textbook in that it incorporates the development of English skills, confidence and strategies in taking the TOEFL iBT.
The AEP is an important step in the transition from general English programs to academic contexts in foreign universities. It also helps students be prepared for the TOEFL iBT.
Before registering for AEP, students will take a placement test to be enrolled in a suitable level.
