The English for International Communication (EIC) program is designed for those who want to improve their skills and have needs to use English frequently in the workplace, especially in international working environment.

The EIC program is a fair, precise and objective measurement tool.  We assess students’ current level of proficiency, assist students in meeting higher job requirements, enhance students’ profile, keep track of students’ progress, set learning objectives and attract future employers.

Students will have opportunities to learn and practice intensively all English skills to help them communicate in English more effectively. Also, students will be equipped with soft skills to have better performance in the workplace.

The curriculum is developed based on students’ progress at each level. Students learn new words, correct pronunciation, practice speaking and listening skills through participating in various class activities. Students will be more confident in international communication.

Students have two options to choose from:

• Monday – Wednesday – Friday; or
• Tuesday – Thursday – Saturday

Exam Preparation

• TOEIC PREP. (after EIC 8)  :  2.565.000 VND (135 USD) / class / 9 weeks

TOEFL iBT preparation:

• Pre TOEFL iBT 1, 2 :  6.270.000 (330 USD) / class / 14 weeks
• TOEFL iBT Prep. 1  :  6.840.000 (360 USD) / class / 14 weeks
• TOEFL iBT Prep. 2  :  3.040.000 (160 USD) / class / 6 weeks

Placement test

• Students need to sit for placement tests in all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) before acceptance into the course.
• Students will be enrolled in the right level based on placement test results.

Certificate

• Upon finishing the Intermediate and Advance level, students will take the first internationally recognized test – TOEIC.
• Upon finishing the whole program, students will take TOEFL iBT.
• Students finishing the EIC program will receive certificates signed by VUS and CSI/CUNY (US). In addition, students will have a TOEFL score report eligible to apply for most of the universities in the world.

Requirements for students

• Attend all class sessions and be active in extra-curriculum activities and lab sessions in the Multimedia room (free admission).
• Attendance counts for 10% of course total results (students who get permission to be absent from class will not be subject to attendance counting).
• Students who are absent for more than 30% of class time will not be allowed to take the final exam.
• Tuition fees are non-refundable. In special case, VUS will approve for the tuition fees to be transferred to later courses within three months.

Class transfer

• Class transfer request is only accepted in the first week of the course and is decided by the Student Recruitment Office. VUS will only give priority to students who really have difficulty in arranging time to attend the course.
